The former owner of Italian motorcycle maker Ducati has bought a 37.5-percent stake in financially strapped British car maker Aston Martin. The move means future Astons could use modern drivelines and electric architectures from Mercedes-Benz's AMG division, insiders with knowledge of the deal suggest. Private equity fund Investindustrial has signed a memorandum of understanding with current Aston Martin owner Investment Dar of Kuwait that will see it pay $240 million (150 million pounds) for the ownership stake.

This is the US-spec Nismo RS and changes are likely to be made before it went on sale in the UK, according to officials in LA. BMW has revealed a radical new concept set to be unveiled at the forthcoming Frankfurt motor show. Dubbed Vision EfficientDynamics, the vehicle is a showcase for the German automaker's new lightweight technologies and material adaptations. The prototype features a series of layered, flowing design elements which come together to create a lightweight vision for the future: a performance-oriented model created to not only conjure up emotion but to also epitomize BMW's 'EfficientDynamics' technologies.
